Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Are the services in English?
Answer: Yes. SMCC is predominately a fellowship of Americans and all services are conducted in English.
Question: What is the “style” of worship?
Answer: Our “style” is the praise and adoration of Jesus: we celebrate all forms of musical expression and do not label ourselves contemporary or traditional.
Question: Is SMCC affiliated with a denomination?
Answer: Yes. Stuttgart Missional Community Church is part the Assemblies of God and pastored by an ordained minister of the fellowship.
Question: Are there programs for children other than on Sunday morning?
Answer: No. We believe that kids and parents should be engaged in their community as a Christian witness and as such, we encourage families to participate in local sports organizations, scouting, and other programs.
Question: Do you have small groups?
Answer: Yes, our small group ministry is called “Growth Groups” and they meet in homes throughout the Stuttgart community. These groups will focus on prayer, life application of Biblical truths, and fellowship.
Question: Why do I need to direct my giving to “Calvary Temple AG“?
Answer: Because we are located in Germany, we are unable to receive tax exempt status in the United States. Consequently, we are unable to give you a receipt for your giving for tax purposes. Calvary Temple (located in San Antonio, TX) has partnered with us to allow you to receive tax credit for your giving. The money you give goes through Calvary Temple to SMCC. It is important to note that we can only process electronic giving and checks this way. There is no way for SMCC to issue a receipt for cash contributions.
Question: What is the position of the church on “Assurance of Salvation”?
Answer: We are in agreement with the Assemblies of God (AG) position regarding the eternal security of the believer. Click here to read the AG position.
Question: What does SMCC teach about tithing?
Answer: SMCC is a proponent of tithing (or giving one-tenth of one’s personal income to support the work of God). Click here to read our position in it's entirety.
